Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sync my steps?
Upkeep automatically syncs your steps from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). Make sure you've granted health data permissions in your device settings. You can also trigger a manual sync from the dashboard.
Why is my step count different from my fitness tracker?
Upkeep reads step data from your phone's health platform, which aggregates data from all connected sources. Small differences between devices are normal due to how each source counts and deduplicates steps.
How do I invite friends to a challenge?
Open your active challenge, tap the invite button, and share the generated link with your friends. They can join by tapping the link and signing into Upkeep.
What does Upkeep cost?
Upkeep is free to download, and joining any challenge is free. A free host gets Solo, Duel and Small Group challenges of 3 to 15 people, up to 7 days long, with up to 3 duel or group challenges at once. Upkeep Pro costs $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial on the annual plan. It adds groups of 16 to 250 people, challenges up to 30 days and unlimited hosted challenges. A Creator Pass costs $4.99 once and covers one challenge of up to 50 people and 30 days, with no subscription. US prices; local prices differ. For a group larger than 250, email support@upkeep.social.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Open the Profile tab in the app and tap "Delete Account." This starts a 60-day window. If you sign in again within 60 days, your account is restored. After 60 days, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted. You can also email support@upkeep.social to request account deletion.
What data does Upkeep collect?
Upkeep collects your name and email from Apple or Google sign-in, the health and fitness data you allow it to read from Apple Health or Health Connect, location data while you are in a duel or group challenge, your challenge activity, basic device information and notification tokens, and app usage analytics.
